I was celebrating my birthday at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel. Wonderful dinner and also a lovely stay at the hotel for one week. Very nice room and exellent service

Nous avons beaucoup aimé l'hôtel .l'endroit est magnifique ,le personnel est chaleureux et toujours disponible .les chambres sont spacieuses et tres bien insonorisées.La propreté des chambres ainsi que des parties communes est irréprochable .Le petit déjeuner est extraordinaire .Nous n'avons pas du tout été gêné par les travaux en cours dans la partie nord.En résumé :de très belles vacances en famille

A most enjoyable stay, it was our wedding anniversary during our visit. Hence the reason for our trip. We had our celebration meal in Il Galo D'oro, expensive, but well worth a visit. The Hotel and it's Grounds are well kept and the Staff are courteous and attentive
Although we booked a Junior suite we were on the lower floor - albeit " up the hill " - we would have preferred to be on a higher floor with a bigger balcony

this is an excellent hotel with really good stFf in all departments.
When reserving i asked for a quiet room. when checking in iasked for a quiet room. we were given room 307. with a nice east facing. view. however right next door to the hotel is a building site where currently 8.30 until dusk they are hammering to break up and move concrete and rocks.,neither the balcony nor room are useable in the day. Very poor after specifying a quiet room!, disappointing.

The rooms, the staff, the food and the grounds - everything is superb at the Cliff Bay - our favourite hotel. We especially want to thank the staff from the Cliff Bay Gallo D'Oro restaurant for making our 30th wedding anniversary a night that we will never forget. We booked a 'Romantic dinner' for two which was absolutely out of this world and so very very special. We were served by our own personal waiter and were seated in a private area of the gardens which had a stunning view over the bay of Funchal and of Reids hotel perched on the top of the cliff opposite. There were red roses on the table, candelight and romantic music playing and we began the evening with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. There followed 5 sumptuous courses from the Michelin starred menu, each one served in exquisite dishes and expertly explained by Roberto who also took some great photos for us! As the evening progressed the sun went down and the lights came on across the bay making it evening more romantic! Thank you to all the staff who made this evening so very special for us both - we take away wonderful memories of a superb evening and a wonderful relaxing holiday.
There is nothing at all to dislike about this wonderful hotel!

Staying at the Cliff Bay is a total experience of luxury accommodation,facilities and overall ambience. Supreme care and courtesy are afforded to guests by staff at all levels . Watching the sun rise over the sea in the east in the morning and set in the west in the evening is sheer bliss. A stay at the Cliff Bay is extremely good value for money.
There was nothing I disliked. I enjoyed everything.
